Tips For A Great Appointment

Before the Session:

  • Think about your goals. What are you hoping to get clarity on?
  • Review your resume or questions in advance if relevant.
  • If exploring options, reflect on your interests and past experiences.

Bring (if relevant):

  • A copy of your resume, cover letter or job posting you are applying to
  • Notes or drafts (SOPs, LinkedIn, test timelines etc.)
  • Any questions you have been thinking about!

After the Session:

Frequently Asked Questions

How long are appointments?

Usually every advisor has 30-min slot bookings. The length of your appointment beyond this depends on the advisor's availability. If you would like a longer appointment, you can book 2 back-to-back slots to get 1 hour (depending on your query).

Can I book multiple times?

Yes! Book as many appointments as you need. We encourage ongoing relationships with advisors as your career journey evolves.

What if I'm not sure what I want to discuss?

That's perfectly fine! Our advisors are skilled at helping you identify goals and areas to explore. Come with an open mind and we'll help you find direction.

Is there a cost for advisory sessions?

No, all advisory services are free for LUMS students. This includes one-on-one sessions, workshops, and access to resources.
